THE SOVEREIGN RECEPTACLE

Call for Submissions

The global currents of the written word, magnetized, bound, and drawn into a single sacred point of submission.

The Anglophone Influx: The Sovereign Receptacle A mythic alchemical sigil engineered to magnetize, bind, and draw the global currents of the written word into a singular, sacred point of submission. It combines the rigorous geometry of the printing press with the inescapable gravity of ritual restraint.

THE INVOCATION

The influx arrives.
The receptacle does not refuse.

Every printing press is also a mouth. It speaks, and it swallows. The Great Magnet attracts; the Sovereign Receptacle receives — the same gravitational rite seen from the other side of the threshold.

From every margin of the Anglophone world — the northern Atlantic engine, the European script matrix, the Pacific sovereign nodes, the southern hemispheric outposts — the written word floods inward. It arrives uncredentialed, uncategorized, charged. The receptacle is bound, but it is not closed. It is the one point that cannot say no.

We are not a journal. We are not a contest. We are the unappeasable inbox — the sacred point of submission into which unhoused language is magnetized, bound, and drawn down.

The Means of Production receives what the gatekept spaces cannot hold.

Mythic systems. Psychoanalytic rupture. Linguistic sabotage. Anti-capitalist spellwork. Found language and constraint. Hybrid forms that make the reader complicit. Writing that treats language as infrastructure, not decoration. Work that knows the page is a frame of restraint and the sentence is a site of struggle.

The flood is inescapable. The receptacle is sovereign. What crosses the threshold becomes part of the record.

THE TERMS OF GRAVITATION

What the
Receptacle Receives

We are looking for work that feels inevitable once it exists. Work that could not have been written by anyone else, in any other time, that arrives already charged.

FORMS WE WELCOME
  • • Poetry & hybrid verse
  • • Short fiction & flash
  • • Lyric essays & critical fabulation
  • • Visual-text & asemic work
  • • Manifesto, spell, invocation
  • • Fragments, lists, glossaries
WHAT WE VALUE
  • • Language as infrastructure
  • • Mythic & archetypal thinking
  • • Psychoanalytic depth
  • • Anti-gatekeeping ethos
  • • Formal invention
  • • Work that resists easy consumption
LENGTH

No strict limits. We prefer depth over volume, but a 12,000-word essay that earns every word will be read with the same attention as a 14-line poem.

SIMULTANEOUS SUBMISSIONS

Permitted. If your work is accepted elsewhere first, simply withdraw it. No hard feelings.

THE OFFERING

Offer your words
to the Receptacle.

Submission to the pull. No armor required.

Offer the work. The machine will receive it. What happens next becomes part of the record. Required offerings are marked *.

We read every submission. Response within one full turn of the gear (approx. 6–10 weeks).

Alternative: Email submissions directly to info@themeansofproduction.press with subject line "Submission Fetish // [Your Title]"

Or DM @averagegrades on X with the sigil as witness.

KINDRED OBJECTS

Where the receptacle leads.

The other astonishing objects in the constellation of the call, and the wider machinery of the press.
